Erick and Vinna
A wedding second shot for Jenna Leann
This beautiful couple held an intimate midday wedding in Lafayette, Indiana. Vinna had moved across the world to be with Erick, which is honestly the most romantic thing I think I've ever heard! We started the day with details photos, which included a show-stopper bouquet and of course, a lucky penny tapped to the shoe. If you don't know, a penny on a brides shoe is for good luck and prosperity!

Erick and Vinna opted for a first touch before the ceremony to have a moment together to pray. It was a tear-filled moment that I'll never forget. After, we had to play a game of "hide the bride" as we took individual portraits. The venue had lots of windows, so the only place to keep the groom from seeing her was the bathroom haha! It was worth it for the first look at the aisle.
They had a religious ceremony that was full of so much love. They even invited all of their family up to pray over them. Because the ceremony was long, I was actually able to run inside and grab some shots through the window of the reception space. It might be one of the coolest ceremony pictures I've taken to date!

The mid-day sun was a challenge, but we handled it well. We opted for portraits in the shade of the venue and the surrounding trees. The venue was Rush Pavillion, a small space in the center of a park. The pond at the park had many ducks who were wonderful party crashers.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom signed their marriage license, cut their cake, and greeted their guests. Everything was going off without a hitch! However, no wedding is perfect, and I'm always waiting for which shoe will drop and create the story the family laughs about for a lifetime. For this wedding, it was a cardboard box on top of a stove! The burner was accidentally turned on and almost started a fire. It was scary at the moment, but looking back is such a funny and unique memory. Everyone and everything was okay since it was caught early, but I'll likely never forget it haha!
I'll always remember this October wedding fondly, and I hope to have more casual and love-filled days in the future!
